FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS, I HAVE BEEN TEACHING FILMMAKING TO YOUNG PEOPLE FROM UKRAINE AND EUROPE. I HAVE 15 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL DIRECTING EXPERIENCE IN TELEVISION AND DOCUMENTARY FILM PROJECTS.

I have ten years of experience producing documentaries and several short feature films.

For the past five years, I have been successfully teaching a documentary film course for young people and filming documentaries with students. Many of our films have participated in international film festivals.

My educational program invites you to become a successful "hunter" for interesting, original, and important stories for you. Why take the course?
- an understanding of the current context of documentary filmmaking based on the history of the documentary genre and its different forms
- the ability to research effectively, and to develop, structure and pitch your ideas with the potential market and audience in mind
- knowledge and skills to operate a digital camera, sound recording, light a scene and use editing software
- an appreciation of the importance of narrative and storytelling in documentary filmmaking and developing a voice as a documentary storyteller.
What you'll study?

You will engage with a wide range of approaches to documentary filmmaking, from observational modes to the visual essay. The curriculum addresses key debates around the ethics of documentary practice, activist filmmaking, and hybrid forms that combine fact and fiction, alongside the study of contemporary scholarship by leading filmmakers, theorists, and historians.
How will you improve your filmmaking?

Through intensive practice-based workshops with filmmakers, group seminars, and individual tutorials, you will be supported in identifying themes for your work, refining your creative methods, and developing original strategies for shooting and editing. In doing so, you will build a strong portfolio while continuously advancing your own distinctive visual language.

MORE THAN 20 OF MY STUDENTS ENTERED FILM UNIVERSITIES IN UKRAINE AND EUROPE.

Since 2014, I have been actively promoting Ukrainian cinema. I teach teenagers to create modern documentary films. I created a unique training course “Documentary on a smartphone”. Over the past few years, more than 300 of my students have completed the documentary film course. These were online and offline film schools, master classes, film weekends and film camps. Students created documentaries, participated in international competitions.

WAR IN UKRAINE

During the 2022-2024 war, I organized and implemented 3 charity film camps in the de-occupied cities of Ukraine with my team. I also organized an online film school for refugee children, where 40 refugee children met three times a week and studied filmmaking. We shot a movie, which we are now showing in various European countries.

Now a new film course has opened in the online film school "Documentary Cinema".
30 Ukrainian refugees from all over the world are studying there.
I am proud of each of my students, including film projects and documentaries.
